On 14 Nov 2025, we had the privilege of hosting 10 students from Temasek Junior College at the Centre for Hydrogen Innovations (CHI) and the Sustainable Tropical Data Centre Testbed (STDCT). What a rewarding experience for all of us!
From our side, the visit underscored why we do what we do:
💠 At CHI, the students saw up close how our researchers are pushing the boundaries of hydrogen innovations. These are not just lab experiments — they represent a real pathway toward a scalable, low-carbon hydrogen economy.
💠 At the STDCT, the team walked them through the living-lab setup we have built, designed specifically to test and validate cooling technologies for data centres in a tropical climate.
Why this matters:
💠 Data centres consume a significant chunk of energy — especially for cooling.
💠 By raising operational temperature and innovating with air + liquid cooling, STDCT aims to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and CO₂ emissions.
💠 On the hydrogen front, the mission at CHI is to make hydrogen more accessible, safer, and more practical for data centres.
💠 Equally important: building the next generation of green-tech talent. Seeing the curiosity and passion of these students reaffirms why education and outreach are central to our missions.
A heartfelt thank you to the Temasek Junior College students for visiting us. We look forward to continuing to inspire, educate, and co-create solutions with young minds who will shape our low-carbon future. 💡
